The La Marzocco Strada is a wondrous thing of beauty. Made to order in the hills of Scarperia near Florence, Italy, each machine is bespoke and incorporates technology which gives the Barista absolute and direct control over the pressure at any time during the extraction process. Our beautiful beast of a machine has now been joined by another Italian femme fatale - the 60's styling of a San Remo Verona is settling in nicely at The Cogges Kitchen. At our newly opened 10 bedroom pub in Bourton on the Water, The Mousetrap Inn, we have a beautiful Conti C100.
We are true coffee geeks- we live and breathe good coffee. Sometimes, along the way we've been disappointed by others who don't have the same passion or integrity that we look for- what we demand is quality, consistency & honesty from our suppliers- not expensive branding and hot air! After our first year of trading, we had to ditch one supplier because of this and we now have more control over the coffee.
Why does everywhere in the local area seem to sell the same old coffee? Nearly every cafe and restaurant locally offers the same coffee with no point of difference. Ours is roasted exclusively for us by Lynsey Harley under our own Coffeesmith label.
Lynsey is extremely experienced and highly respected in the industry, and we're thrilled that she is roasting our beans!
Of course we are still offering guest coffees from some of the other micro-roasteries that we know and admire. These guys definitely share our passion and integrity too- Roundhill in Radstock, Modern Standard in Tilbury, Wellington in Edinburgh, North Star in Leeds, Square Mile & Nude in London and others are emerging all the time- if we find something we like, we want to share it with our customers.
